Kathy Duong joined Canyon Snow in 2012 and brings local government experience, policy research, and a dedication to deliver successful private sector solutions to the public sector. At Canyon Snow, Kathy focuses on local and state government affairs, policy analysis, and digital communications management.
Prior to her current role as Senior Associate, Kathy was a staffer for former San Jose City Councilmember Kansen Chu where she served district residents in navigating through the city’s service infrastructure and focused on land use, environmental, and economic development policy. She supported the Councilmember on landmark initiatives that included the North San Jose Vision 2030 plan, citywide plastic bag ban, inclusionary housing, and green building goals.
Kathy is a founding member of the Bay Area Asian Pacific American Legislative Staffers Association. Kathy earned a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture and City Planning from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Science degree in Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. In her spare time she can be found serving coffee with her husband at their shop, Academic Coffee in Downtown San Jose.
